Okay, I'm not yet done, but with the encouragement of some of you who left comments on my last post, I did get 11,000 words done on this one, so I just officially told Aly that this can go in the auction:

A full length crossover with Magnificent Seven featuring Jim finding his mother and a new family. Flesh and Blood and Heart is set in roughly season 3 with an established relationship between Jim and Blair. When a bone marrow donation reveals that Jim has a first degree relative, he goes on a search to see if some stopover during his military days meant a child he never knew about. Instead he discovers that his parents' marriage had more than a few secrets and his mother is a woman capable of turning his life upside down. When everything else fails him, he has Blair, but what he doesn't know is just how far he can trust the rest of his family. This story is not yet completed, but is estimated at 40-60K words.

Sounds fabulous! Will this go to a single winning bid or to anyone who donates a set amount to Moonridge? If the latter, you can count on me!

It's going to be a set amount. I left it up to Aly to decide how much, but I'll let you guys know as soon as she updates the page.

Sounds fabulous

I think Sentinel and the ATF Mag 7 makes the best crossovers. They are both modern day law enforcement with an attraction for the strange.
I hope you get a lot of money but I've already put in a special claim begging someone to write me a sentinel story so I don't know if I should bid on your story.

The ATF crossovers certainly pulled me into the M7 fandom, but after watching the shows, I decided to stick with my T7 AU (Tucson Seven). Vin and Chris are in law enforcement, but most everyone else is skating right on the line between law enforcement and outlaw.

Glad that you got inspired, all the more that it will benefit charity. It will be interesting to see who Jim is related to (I know next to nothing of M7, other than the piece you wrote, so it is not obvious if someone is suppose to stand out from previous knowledge.)

I really did want to do something for charity, but my muse has been temperamental lately. It's very annoying. And I will introduce the M7 characters one at a time in the crossover, but I will be using the same AU setup as in my first M7 piece. Mostly, this is going to be a Jim story, though.

Always a guilty pleasure to hear that commenting--among many others--inspires people to write and then we get to enjoy (at some point). I enjoyed your AU M7 and got a feel for their characters which should be enough in a story focusing on Jim. Anways, I hope you enjoy the writing process.

Comments are an incredible motivation. It's not even the praise... it's talking to someone. A lot of times, someone will make an observation of something I didn't *notice* in my own writing, and that will set me off in a whole new direction.

Momma Maude? Oh boy. Boy Scout Jim v. Ethics Are for Poor People Maude. That can be very, very interesting. Though, Jim was a Ranger, and Rangers are, well. No, Jim wasn't a Ranger. (A shake fist at st00pid TV people rant to not get into.)

Momma Maude has a spotty past, and I can imagine that at one point long ago, she used the name Grace and got in with a rich man. And going with canon, you have to let Jim be a Ranger.

Whats wrong with Jim being a Ranger?

I've read your Sentinel fic, and a few others I've seen rec'd, but I haven't gone looking for it. This made me interested enough to search for the Moonridge site and even bid on a couple of things. Thanks.

I LOVE our Sentinel fict! I'm happy to read any :) You've got an amazing voice with the Sentinel.
But I've got to say I've been anticipating "Mastermind" since you first mentioned it.. a year ago?? a while ago anyway! I hope you don't abandon that idea. Criminal Blair sounds awesome!

Thank you so much. And I keep trying to write Mastermind, and I keep blowing out... badly. I'm so sorry for that.

It does seem like Maude might have hooked up with a young, handsome, wealthy William Ellison.
