This is the chapter I wrote first. This is the heart of the whole story.


NCIS/Criminal Minds
Gibbs has left for Mexico, and Tony’s gut is telling him he’s in trouble. Abby is too distracted by her grief for Gibbs to back Tony up, so he decides to go to the most Abbish person he knows for help: Penelope Garcia. Abby introduced them after the two women met at a forensics seminar for federal agents. So Tony asks Garcia if she will do a little digging, but bringing Garcia in means bringing in other members of the BAU. After all, if Garcia thinks a friend is in trouble, she’ll always turn to her Derek, trusting him to do the right thing. Tony just isn't sure that having Derek Morgan on his side is going to help when he has a director making unreasonable requests, a team doing the minimum required for their job and an overwrought Abby to deal with.

This story is going to have two threads: understand the Wraith and developing Atlantis as a city.  This is the setup for the second part of that.  Atlantis is growing.  And she has a few new citizens.

Lions and Igigi and Wraith, Oh My was supposed to be just a snippet or two... a little fun in a universe I've come to like a lot. Instead, I found that the quippier and goofier tone of Atlantis is far more seductive than I thought and I can't stop reading.

Chapter One: Tony and G/S are in Antarctic and he hears rumors of a certain flyboy with wild hair

Chapter Two: G/S goes head to head with Weir. She wants a scientific expedition; he wants to avoid starvation.

Chapter Three: Sheppard confronts G/S about exactly where he sees himself fitting in now that Sheppard has taken over command of Atlantis

Chapter Four: On Dagas, the team is searching for a ZPM, but G/S knows something is wrong and he takes actions and just happens to throw Sheppard under the Ancient bus.

Chapter Five: John is stuck in a city full of crazy people, but he's trying to do the best he can for Rodney and the city, and Samas' advice is changing his perception about what might be best.

I will probably keep posting over there, but I'll link to the chapters since I seem to be writing another full story.  Maybe.  Hell, I give up trying to predict what the muse will do.

The END.  We go back to the beginning by returning to NCIS.
