Okay, Thoughts Colored Ugly is finally done and I have reclaimed large portions of my brain taken over by a very toppy (if somewhat strange) River. River is about as annoying as Blair to write just from the research I had to do because I do not know as much as either of them.

And I want to say WWWWWWWWWeeeeee.

Nominations!

Yeah, surprised me to since I'm not a huge Willow writer. But "The Slow Path to Fixed" from my Beautiful Broken universe got nominated.

And I got THREE for LC/Experience Curve. Best Long, Best Crossover, Best Slash. *Preens*

Whoever nominated me, thank you and I do adore my flist because you guys are always supportive, even when I do crazy stuff like make Riley Xander's Sentinel.

I nominated Slow Path to Fixed. It's a beautiful piece of work, stands on its own, and deserves some love.

hmm...somehow I missed the fic where Riley was Xander's Sentinel. Which one was that? I've only recently gotten into Sentinel fic, so that could be a reason why I didn't read it yet. Also, I love Riley/Xander fics.

I didn't actually write Riley/Xander. Experience Curve has Spander, but when Riley shows up with Sentinel abilities, Xander and his shamanic powers step up to the plate. They really have a more brotherly relationship than anything.

Actually, right after I posted that comment, I was all "I wonder if I can find the fic in her tags?" so I went down the list and found Learning Curve, which I've just started and am on Chapter 3 of. It seems really good. I'm sorry I didn't get to it before, but I think, at the time, I didn't know a lot about Sentinel, so I skipped it. I'm whacking myself over the head for doing that now.

Hey, no biggie. I tend to write a range... het/gen/slash/Sentinel/Buffy/Firefly... no one is going to like everything I read.

Oh, but generally I do. I just suck at the telling people that. I think I even read a het fic of your's once. And I remember exactly when I decided that I would eventually read everything you ever write.....it was right around the time you were writing Beautiful Broken, then I went back and read Second Verse, and I've been hooked ever since.

And congratulations on the nominations, they are totally deserved.

Thank you so much. And you caught me pretty early in the writing if you started with BB

Congrats! You deserve the recognition!

EC is one of the best fics written this year, hands down. I'll have to check out the other noms to see if they are anywhere near your class ;-)

I really didn't mind Riley as Xander's Sentinel. If you would have slashed the two of them I might have been less happy though. As it is, I'd love to see a sequel. I'd like to see how Xander, Spike, Buffy and Riley work together.

Great work!!!

Thank you so much. I'm so glad that you enjoyed it so much. I really can't see Xander and Riley together, but maybe that's because I grew up in the Midwest, and homosexuality was just so frowned on that I can't see an apple pie, slayer-obsessed, farm-boy like Riley bucking that perception to ever *explore* that side of him. So, no Riley slash from me.

A belated congratulations! I'm just getting the chance to look at LJ for the first time in a couple of weeks. Tomorrow, I'm going to finish Experience Curve (so excited to finally have the time to read it). After working 16 hour days for a couple of weeks, I finally got the chance to sleep in and now I can catch up on what I've been missing.

Oh, that sounds absolutely dreadful, being that buried in work, but I truly appreciate you giving us more NTS, and I'm glad you're back.
