Flights of Fancy

A long time ago, I had a flist celebration and someone asked for a crossover with Firefly and Sentinel. This started tickling my fancy, and then I set it aside for a long time. So, I'm not even going to try and explain how these two got into this universe… magic, reincarnation, don't care! But missy_oa tickled my muse a lot. I don't know if this is going to be a three or four parter or a fifteen or sixteen parter.


Prologue
The war raged across moons and planets. Browncoats versus Purple-bellies. Malcolm Reynolds fought for the Browncoat rebels... men and women who felt that the Alliance and civilized core planets were taking too much control of the rest of the system. They wanted their freedom. They lost. James Joseph Womak was a commander for the Alliance, proud to wear the purple uniform and determined to bring justice to the common farmers who lived rough lives on an outer rim dominated by smugglers and slavers and criminals. His side won, but he still lost. Two bitter old war horses really aren't good at forgiving or forgetting or letting evil grow like mold in those dark corners of the universe where other men are afraid to look.

Okay, I need a break from my big story, and over at Twisting the Hellmouth, they had someone asking to see Riley and Faith interact with Harry Potter characters. Well, after reading some HP fic, I decided to give it a go. Fair warning to my slashy buddies, I just don't see Snape as going after boys. So, this is het.

I do plan on going back to Irony, but I have pulled my back out, which means I am on pain medicine that is making me do funny things. In one chapter, velvet_virago caught me talking about Xander wanting to look in a mirror. HE'S A VAMP. I can't be trusted with plot right now, so the evil Initiative will wait until I am coherent.
