Time is at such a premium right now, but I used housecleaning as an excuse to watch two more episodes. It slowed me down to keep going back to the keyboard to write comments, but my laundry is done and my bathroom smells like... I think it's supposed to be pine, but let's be honest... it smells like a chemical factory.

No Exit.

Hey! I’ve seen this. At least I saw the beginning before I turned it off thinking to myself that the story was corny and I didn’t know any of the characters, but watching them scream at each other was not amusing. Well, I think my perspective has changed a little.

I love that Dean is the one trying to give the “it’s good to be normal” speech to Jo. That boy wouldn’t know normal if it bit him on the ass. Oh my. I really loved Jo when I first met her, but right now I am so very annoyed with her whining, her attitude, and her willingness to do incredibly stupid shit because she wants to prove herself. Idiot. I still adore Ellen, though. Okay, Jo redeems herself a little in the end, having the nerve to sit as bait and then realizing that someone might accidentally release the ghost. And I loved the cement truck. Yep, that’s one way to make sure no one goes in there again.

The Usual Suspects

Huh. It’s set in Baltimore. Tony DiNozzo is whispering in my ear. For some reason, I’m not loving the flashback. I guess I want to know what happens with the arrest, so I don’t really give a damn about the actual ghost. Awwww. Dean is giving the detective smart ass remarks. Color me surprised.

I like the female detective. She’s cautious, quick to put evidence together, and still willing to believe and get a little creative with the rules when the situation calls for it. She actually reminds me of my Paige from Insistent Hunger. However, I don’t have a good feeling about her boyfriend/partner. If she didn’t do anything, I have a creepy feeling her partner might have. He was friends with the defense attorney who died, after all. Oh SNAP. The dead girl has the same necklace as the detective. Yep, her partner was dirty. Oh yeah, this gets so much better once they focused on the arrest. And weeeeee for the woman detective who does the right thing. She killed the murderer. I do wonder about that line at the end… “Does she look familiar to you?” Is she related to one of them? OMG. I just looked up the actress. It’s the girl from the Exocist. Okay, that’s good.

Jo gets better - sadly this poorly written episode was one of the reasons so many fans disliked her. As a Chicagoan I was disappointed that they set this episode in Philadelphia. There was no reason for a house in Philadelphia to be set up like the murder castle. I think they should have put in Englewood because that was where the original murder castle was. - Of course then the girls dying couldn't be blonds. Yes Lurve Ellen

I really liked the Usual Suspects. It amused me that Linda Blair said that she would only be in the show if she was a non believer in the Supernatural. SPN likes to get horror icons to be on the show. They would really like to have Bruce Campbell but he is too busy with Burn Notice. I was amused with how the boys have a code between them so they can find each-other if separated and how they managed to communicate - and yes Snarky Dean is adorable from his Blue Steel imitation through sassing the cops

Love reading your reviews - got to admit I was stalking your journal and was happy to see this. Wish my house was clean - wanna come help? LOL

this really is a pretty oddly written episode. Jo comes off as inexperienced and quite frankly annoying. I really hated seeing a character who I had totally liked and admired turn into someone so marginal. However I really and now dying to see Ellen and putting Dean through all his bases. She could handle him.

I would love to see Bruce Campbell on the show. That would be a lot of fun, but I can understand that he is a little big in terms of guest stars.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Had to get that out of my system.

I woke up, and my first thought was that I would just stalk your journal in case there was an update (as it had been a few days), checked my email on the off chance, saw there had been a new entry by you (was amazingly happy at the thought of another Airman Harris chapter), opened the email (and was crushed that it was about Supernatural).

*realizes I'm being perfectly silly* :-)

aw. I'm so sorry. You're not being silly because there are times that I am so dying for a new chapter something that I don't even know how to see straight. Trust me when people tell me that they are good or read a story until they're finished, I am not insulted at all because I know the pain. I so know the pain.

Ooh! I totally missed the Exorcist thing back when I watched the episode. Supernatural does like to lean on (or, alternatively, blow up) the fourth wall, so I really should've picked up on that.

I didn't catch it until I used Google. But I knew something was up from the whole comment about she looked familiar. I thought maybe she was someone's relative, but when I looked up the episode, I realize that she was actually the chick from exorcist

You should check out Super Wiki, especially the Trivia & Reference section:

I never realized how many great references they make--And 4th wall? What 4th wall? :)

One of the funnier parts right at the end of The Usual Suspects is that Dean then comments to Sam that he could go for pea soup. So glad you're getting into Supernatural.

oh my God. I totally missed the pea soup, it. If I had time I would go back and re-watch it right now

Yeah, that ep made me not too fond of Jo, some say she gets better but as I haven't finished season two I ain't seen it yet.

I like how (and who) they use guest stars :)

I do end up liking Jo. She has a really good episode where (long story) her and her mother end up on opposite sides of a hunt, and I really liked how they both handled themselves. Personally, I would still rather pair Dean with Ellen, though. Jo can't handle his issues.
