Seriously. I am not in my right mind. I really need to go to bed and stop watching these.
Everybody Loves a Clown
Both these boys are in so very much pain, but I really see Dean pulling away from his father’s beliefs, and I have to think that it was because of what his father said. I suspect he told Dean something about the deal or something about Sam, and I think Dean finally sees his father’s feet of clay.
New cast members
Mom hunter: I like her. No nonsense. And you KNOW at one point she slept with John. Did you see the look on her face?
Daughter hunter: I don’t know yet.
Techie Guy: A little over the top, but he’s interesting. I do like that he feels the need to clarify, “MIT: it’s a school in Boston.” I really wonder what his backstory is.
Bloodlust
Back in Black!! LOL. I adore that they play this when the Impala is finally up and running again.
It sure seems like the hunters have one hell of a rumor mill. “You know how hunters talk” this new hunter announces. Yeah, the boys really are not part of this community, even if the whole community knows them. I wonder why their father wanted to keep them apart. I mean, if he didn’t want them to hunt at all, I would get that, but he seems to have cut them off from a viable source of information and support.
If this vampire hunter thinks that you need a cold dark hole in your heart to be a good hunter, he’s trouble
Oh, I love Ellen. Gordon is a good hunter the way Hannibal Lector is a good psychiatrist. That is a damn good line. Yeah, I really do like her. And I’m glad that Dean seems to be buying a clue about this guy.
Lenore just wants to talk. Huh. At least she’s being honest about that fact that she’s only doing it I hate that Sam and Dean aren’t listening to each other. God. I mean, I know you’re in pain, but don’t take it out on each other.
Yea! They saved Lenore. Eek. She really got the snot beat out of her. Hmmmm. Sammy is really messing with that bandage a lot. I’m having thoughts about what Sam might have done to help Lenore heal… and where that might have led. It did take him a long time to get back ;)
Dean realizing that the world came in shades of gray—that’s nice. So, Dean is the moral compass with all things human, keeping his brother and father from going off the rails. Sam is the moral compass with all things supernatural, teaching Dean to see the world differently.

Date: 2012-02-23 06:24 am (UTC)You are so spot on in your analyses. A lot will be explained as you get into later seasons. Closure is some thing Kripke does well each season not only has its own arc which finishes but is also tied into the entire narrative thread of the show. He said that he never wanted to make the mistakes that other shows have and end up drowning in his own out of control unresolved mythology. But darn the writers love their anvils. So get ready to duck.
I like Jo lots and she gets better. Never understood while fans disliked her so. Poor Alona, she was supposed to play the role a lot tougher, but the CW started to meddle and as a result, hair and makeup ended up more Gossip Girl than armed hunter. Luv Ellen, she is tough but loving. I have always wanted her to top Dean. He is a submissive trying to be a tough guy and Ellen has that hard edged bossiness that comes from being a hunter, a hunter's wife, a mother and the owner of a honkytonk hunter's bar.
By the way did you notice the halo Dean sported in the last scene? It was an accident that it occurred but I read that it was a deliberate decision to use the cut with the halo.

Date: 2012-02-25 01:47 am (UTC)I think the reason people hate Jo is because she might be an obstacle between the boys: either because of a love interest interfering w/ an intense familial relationship or the whole wincest phen.

Date: 2012-02-25 02:23 am (UTC)Clown. You said that you see Dean pulling away from his father's beliefs. What in this episode lead you to this? I see this in him questioning and standing up to his father in the last few epis. in season 1 and other points that you probably haven't seen yet.
Bloodlust. I agree w/ you that Sam probably gave Lenore blood. There are some fanfics about this. Though, what I remember about this episode is Sam saying that only Dean gets to call him Sammy, however you want that to mean.
