She's totally manipulative, but she also cares about him and is trying to do the right thing for him. She just hasn't figured out yet that she doesn't have all the answers.
And go right ahead and slap Jenny. She hasn't worked with Xander much, and her opinions are colored by her family's history with Angel and Giles' dislike for Xander.
And things are going to be awkward with Faith and Cordelia. In fact, I think Angel is going to keep paying for that separate apartment for quite some time... at least until the bed partners get worked out.
