Great chapter! I have a bad memory, so I always like to read at least one chapter back before reading the newest part. But I decided to go back two chapters this time for some reason, and I'm glad I did. I saw this whole situation from three perspectives - Angel/Xander, Xander/Spike and now Angel/Faith (with a couple of side orders of Xander/Faith and Spike/Faith along the way.) It gave me a really solid viewpoint for this chapter.
The whole question of who would go with who if they split up made even more sense once Faith revealed what she was so worried over. And I love the way Angel figured out how to deal with her fears by using vampire relationships. He's coming along well in the whole dealing with humanity thing. :::pats Angel on his poofy hair:::
I was thinking for a minute there that they might try and use the division of the good guys to sneak Faith in as a spy - to get a better handle on the mayor, but she's really not stable enough for that right now. Getting her away from everything makes a lot more sense. And Blair will definitely be a good influence on her. I knew we'd be seeing him again before too long. I know I'm making assumptions, there, but I hope I'm right. (eta: read some of your responses to comments - glad I was right about that one! I love making Blair a partial demon, great idea!)
One of the ways I can prove you're an excellent writer - you've made me care about two characters I never really liked before. First Angel, and now Faith. What are you doing to me? I hope you never decide to use your powers for nefarious purposes. I don't know what I'd do if you decided to make me a Giles/Xander fan...
