I can see that...though it would have been amusing to watch them panic at being so easily disarmed ('cause I doubt that either Crabbe or Goyle would be all that swift to react).
However, waiting is probably the best thing, though I do hate that he got captured. I hope Draco at least turns him back and tries to talk to him, not hand him over!
