After Arcturus literally blew up in Rodney's face, he didn't know how to make it right. So he swallowed his pride and reached out to Samantha Carter for help. Sam knows Rodney better than he understands. She decides to send him not only what he asks for, but what he really needs. After all, if these people don't listen to the truth when Rodney speaks it, she'll find someone better at getting the point across.
Sometimes I just feel like playing in the sand. In this case, I want to rub John's and Elizabeth's noses in the mess they made after Project Arcturus.

Summary:
Canon diverged before Jackson found Atlantis. The IOC stepped in and decided to make things more efficient. A gene testing program brought Major John Sheppard into the program earlier, but budget constraints and international treaties have kept Dr. Jackson out of the antarctic. So now John has to find his own team--and his own geek--or he's in danger of being stuck in the mountain forever as a light switch. However, as the universe changes, fate forces some things to return to proper form, and other things... they get wildly out of control. John isn't sure how he came to be Earth's enemy, but he's going to have to deal with the cards he's dealt.

Michael was a child playing with the tools of his elders. He thought he could create a hybrid, but that was hubris. It takes an old Wraith to truly understand the puzzles of DNA and unlock the codes. That's what Todd does best--unlocking secret codes. So when he has an opportunity to alter a few of his favorite humans, he does a far better job of it than Michael could have ever dreamed.
But now Todd has sent his beautiful slave back to Atlantis to bait a trap. For John Atlantis is no longer home and he is no longer human, but his instincts for trouble and pulling off a crazy plan are the same. Only now he serves the Wraith Todd instead of the U.S. Air Force.
