Oh hell, any time I wander into a new fandom I have trouble with the characters. Michael is hard because he doesn't tip his hand about his emotions, so it's hard to get his motivations across. And Jim is well aware of the fact that he's being watched and he should back away from the guide, but his instincts are overriding his common sense. He couldn't stop holding Blair any more than he could stop breathing.
I'm so glad you're enjoying this. It's a dark and scary place, but I am enjoying being here.
