I think Trista really is better off simply because she doesn't *want* to recover the way Xander did. I don't think she would be able to remember who she was before and deal with what happened. And considering Spike's reactions to Dru's pain and weakness, I can imagine that vamp turning into a HUGE marshmellow around a child. She's going to be so spoiled.
