Sure thye were free on the street, free to die from an overdose or some other manner. Sky's age is also telling. She's hardly old but she's not young and bouncy like the others.
I feel a little sorry for Dareh. He honestly thinks he's being a kind good owner, and in many ways he is. This is certainly a beter situation than if Xander had found himself in Leshar's hands again. If Xander were a different kind of man he'd be in paradise. All the sex he wanted with no responsibility for the resulting children. I know a lot of guys who'd be out on the street shouting "Take me, take me." But Xander is a geek male and they are a superior breed, in my humble opinion.
Getting back to Dareh, I'll be a little sorry when Spike enviscerates him.
