In a way, it's lucky Dareh wants to breed Xander. If he was just a pet that accept voice inside Xander would have more power. Especially since he's becoming increasingly convinced Spike's dust. Nice touch having Xander participate in his own humiliation by picking his new name.
It'll be interesting to see what the attitude of his "harem" is. Since, from the sounds of things, they were probably born in captivity they should have some pretty interesting takes on their situation.
