And I'm glad you caught the fact that the flashback couldn't take hold on him here. Even though Xander had the momentary sensation of those metal links across his back, he really did pull himself out of that memory. I'm trying to show that he really is fighting his way back."
I like how it's all happening in fits and starts, the progress and the speed of that progress seems so believable. It also gives us a good beefy story to sink our teeth into! :)
