OMG! Amazon! Really??? A glitch in the system is your best explanation for widespread censorship? A glitch sent out a letter to an author explaining your new policy of de-ranking adult books? A glitch decided that when someone searches for "homosexuality" on your site, they should be presented with (in order)
DAMN. You have some really intelligent and specific glitches over there. EPIC FAIL
ETA. Okay--this is an explanation I might buy. Summary: Amazon has a dumbass system that simply records number of complaints and some third party of dumbasses has been targeting LBGT titles to take advantage of the dumbass system. That means that Amazon isn't evil... just STUPID. LINK TO THE ARGUMENT
ETA 2: This explain seems to have fallen apart. No one on my flist can find a way to manipulate the system or any sort of automated system. AND when asked directly, Amazon got weird....
The Los Angeles Times asked an executive:
- A Parent's Guide to Preventing Homosexuality by Joseph Nicolosi and Linda Ames Nicolosi
- Jesus, the Bible, and Homosexuality, Revised and Expanded Edition: Explode the Myths, Heal the Church by Jack Rogers
- For The Bible Tells Me So ~ Gene Robinson, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and Imogene Robinson
- Can Homosexuality Be Healed? by Francis MacNutt

From a layperson's perspective, this glitch does seem to have affected certain types of books more heavily than others. In fact, only one of the top 10 books in your Gay & Lesbian section continues to have a sales ranking (the Kindle version of "The Picture of Dorian Gray"). No other section is similarly affected. Can you comment on that? riter/11369.html

Unfortunately, I'm not able to comment further. We're working to resolve the issue, but I don't have any further information.
No comment is never a reasonable answer
