In Spike's case, loving someone means obsessing over them, killing for them, changing for them. That is the heart of Spike and now Xander is included in that very select little group of beloveds.
I so agree with Angel's analysis that Xander is actually a great demon fighter which he never realized as he was comparing himself to the other supernaturals and not ordinary humans.
I just love your twists and turns re canon and am looking forward to where you take us next.
