I like putting Xander in messes. It's fun! And I started writing this from Xander's POV, and it just didn't work for me. I really wanted to show that alien perspective that Spike can bring.
Oh, and I doubt that the suck house vamps even count at all. They're just tools... probably not seen as more than a moving hole. If Angel started showing interest in them, I think Spike would get jealous enough to immediately stake 'em.
