LOL... Exactly! Angel may be growing to love Xander, but Xander and Spike both annoy the shit out of him even as he cares for them. So, there will be no delusional, self-deceptive perfect happiness for Angel.
And you know, I thought that Angel's happiness with Cordy and his sexual relationship with wolfie-girl really did complicate the whole issue. So did the "Orpheus" episode. If "Angel" is the soul, then how did Faith have a conversation with both "Angel" AND "Angelus" in the dream state? The soul was locked in the sphere. Eh. Whatever. I guess I shouldn't expect logic from Joss.
