Now, I didn't pick Hannu randomly. This is what I wrote back...
hi... I choked on the name "Grenader Hannu Knudsen"... as a Norwegian... I've not read any further yet... but just so you know... HannU is NOT a Norwegian name!... Hanne is a normal one for women(or Henny)...... but.... wince... Harald... Hans...Henning.. there are LOTS of Norwegian names for males that starts with H'... ( I hope its an error.. or that it is a 'foreign' Norwegian (which I doubt.. since Knudsen is pretty typical...) ah... sorry for the rant.. just... fix it please...
Hildegunn
(and my name is a typical Norwegian name:P a little too much maybe...)
anyone... other than this I love your writings:) (and also to keep continuing to read... only got to the introduction... if you need English/Norwegian translations... I am here.... do NOT use the translator machines.. wince..(or at least double checking with me... maybe not the best at grammar... but PLEASE! your stories are too great to be marred with such stupid errors!)

Holy crap. That's bad because the baby name site I looked it up on listed it as a male name. It's listed as a Finnish boy's name meaning 'God is Gracious.' It's a variant on John. So, I wasn't necessarily going for Norwegian first name (although yes, I did pick a common enough last name), but if it's that's out there, maybe I should change it to Henning. So, here's my question. Is it more annoying to leave this name (and European people, does this really read this as this feminine?) or would you be more annoyed at me turning Hannu into Henning halfway through the fic??
