While Blair and Riley can't date as long as Riley is a student, Blair can still invite him home for dinner. If this happened more than once, Jim would run a background check and be horrified at the blank spots in his record; or worse yet Jim would find the background was falsified.
Or Riley could give Jim a shovel for Xmas present and tell about the Scoobies' "shovel talk"
