ah... yep, Dareh had paid good money to hire Xander from Spike, and now that he has a chance to buy Xander, he's not going to pass it up. And I'm glad you like my stories well enough to read as WIP's. I know a lot of people just want the final product, but the comment can quite often affect the storyline.
