Warren at least was himself guilty of two murders and poor Willow had been traumatized by having Tara shot right in front of her. OTOH Jonathan, Andrew's victim, was far more innocent.

I heard that they were thinking of having Xander become gay in S4 but when Seth Green decided to leave ME made Willow gay instead. I guess some remnant of a desire for a male guy lingered and popped up in S7 - unfortunately Andrew was what appeared :(
