Bonnie isn't a human little girl--she isn't going to throw the same kind of temper tantrum, but she does feel things, and I think her father is smart enough to recognize she's throwing a Bonnie-sized tantrum because she does miss Spike. Buffy canon is great, though, because there are a million different ways to bend and twist it.
