"I can use one." Xander's expression was blank, but the fury still poured from his skin. Any demon in a mile would give the boy a wide berth right now.
Part of me wonders if Xander's memories of his soldier-days are still there and still good enough that he knows how to use more than just a pistol, just he thinks that a pistol would be easier to get and easier to dispose of (unlike a rifle). Another part of me wonders if he wants the pistol because he intends to wound Warren rather than kill him, letting the demon population of Sunnydale take care of disposing of the body and the clean-up thereafter. If he goes that route, and if the Scoobies ever come across Warren's body later, they may just think that Warren got in over his head with whatever Demon he had been trying to work with.
Good to see Andrew has been carted off for justice. With both of Warren's magic users out of the way, I wonder how much more turned towards 'hard science' he's going to get, and if he's going to try and mess with Spike and Spike's chip since Riley said that there was a way to turn it off last chapter.
Of course, more importantly, I wonder how long its going to be before Spike realizes that Buffy isn't going to allow herself to be controlled by just her libido anymore, that while she still has desires, and desires him, she's not going to accept him as anything more than a weapon to use and an inconvenience all the other times. Also, I just love:
"Thank you for coming to the rescue," Xander said once they reached the kitchen.
Spike grabbed his blanket off the floor where he'd dropped it. "Didn't actually rescue anyone, mate."
"No, but you showed up when I called, and considering the big ball of light in the sky, that means a lot, Spike."
