I'm glad you guys are approving of Angelus' little appearances. Angel isn't trying to impress the girl here, so he isn't as focused on being perfect. And when we do see the parents in canon, we know 1) they drink 2) they don't pay attention to what Xander's doing and 3) they fight so bad he sleeps outside on Christmas. It's not a Rockwell family moment in that house.
